Something new this year that I am adding is new makeup lines. Before, I only used MAC, TEMPTU and SMASHBOX. I am now adding URBAN DECAY and TARTE. Again, I will only use the BEST makeup on my clients!

Holiday Makeup Tips

Oh the parties, and parties and parties that are in the month of December! Too often time slips away from us and you find that you only see certain people around the Holidays. You may keep in touch on facebook or a blog, but face to face it SO different. Think about photo's we post. We obviously aren't going to post pictures that we don't look good in! So...everyone is seeing you at your best throughout the year. Now, it's face to face time. I am here to help take away the worries and give you my Holiday makeup tips!

First, as always, be sure that your foundation color that you used all summer is still the correct color on you. You probably aren't as tan as you were a few months ago so you may need to go a shade or two lighter.

Add a bronzer to your makeup kit. My favorite bronzer is Smashbox. If you do not like to spend much on makeup, then my top favorite from a drugstore would be Maybelline, True Bronzer.

When applying your bronzer, sweep in over the temples, the top of your cheekbone, your neck and under your chin. You will still use your normal blush, a bronze is an added highlight to your face.

Play your eyes up. Take the time to add several colors to you eyelids. Always start with a nude color for the first coat. The 2nd coat should be a darker color but still somewhat neutral. That color will be added to only half of your eyelid (center to outer corner). Then take a dark color and apply that your eye crease. Blend the middle eyelid to the outer until it looks flawless. Then apply one more color that pops. My top 4, can't live without eye shadow colors that look good on everyone and would work perfect for the "standard 4" are (And you will put it on as the order you see below):

MAC - Naked Lunch
MAC - Cork
MAC- Carbon
MAC - Antiqued

When your eyes are made up, you should play down your lip color and cheek color. Opt for nude colored lips if you are in the age range of 15 - 40. I typically recommend a very deep berry on women that are 40 and above. As we age, are lips get smaller and we get more wrinkles. Nude lips and wrinkles don't go together for some reason. A great nude color is MAC, Gel, mixed with Sandy B. A great berry color is Viva Glam IV.

I hope these makeup tips make your Holidays more beautiful. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Summer time looks

Goodbye spring, hello summer!!! I LOVE summer. I love being able to put flip flops on and a tank top with my hair up in a messy bun and just enjoy the heat. A lot of you may ask, what shall you do with your makeup. It's summer, a time to be free and let loose. BUT, unfortunately, not everyone has perfect skin, or eyes that look good naked. So, I am going to give you some tips to help with achieving the perfect look for summer, without having to be too perfect with your makeup.

First thing you should do is make sure your foundation is the correct shade. If you are using your winter foundation, you may need to go to a shade darker since the sun has been kissing your face. Also, when purchasing a foundation, opt for tinted SPF moisturizer instead of the traditional foundation. Summer is hot and you sweat. You don't want your foundation to melt off.

Eyes. Invest in a good waterproof gel eyeliner. Use light eyeshadow colors on the base of your eye up to your eye crease. Shade in your crease with a slightly darker color. Put a highlighter on the top of your eye just under your eyebrow.

Lips. Skip out on lipstick, unless you have an event you are attending. Get a good tinted moisturizer. It's quick, easy and summer approved!

Blush. Check out some mineral blush. I love MAC mineral blush!!! It gives off a nice highlighted look and also the sun kiss look too.

Here are some great products that are good for your summer makeup collection:

Smashbox- Jet set waterproof gel eyeliner
C.O. Biglow-Mentha Organics Sheer lip tint
Smashbox- Sheer focus tinted moisturizer

These are a few of my favorite things....

Have you ever just had a product that you LOVE!!! Can't live without!! Fear that it will someday be discontinued. Well....here are a few of the products I feel very strongly towards. Think of these products as my cheats!!! I feel as if I am cheating when I apply makeup, because they make makeup application so much easier.

1.) MAC Lip Erase in the color "dim". This lip balm should be applied to lips before applying lipstick. It actually makes your lips totally nude, so your lipstick shows up exactly as it should on your lips. It is a MUST HAVE for a makeup artist.

2. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. This is a satin like gel that you put on a clean face. It fills in all your pores and lines on your face. It allows for makeup to have a smooth surface to adhere to. It also keeps your makeup on much longer.

3.) MAC Blot Powder. This powder is the only powder available that is used just to soak up the oil or shine on your face. It actually leaves no "powder appearance" on your face. Therefore, you can use it over and over again, all day long. It will not just keep piling more powder on your face. Thus the name "Blot Powder".
4. MAC Paint Pots. These can serve as mutiple uses. They are intended mainly for the eyes. It goes on creamy and dries within a few minutes. There are several colors. I love the soft ochre as a primer for the eye lid. It's a neutral cream, nude color. Bare study is a shiny color that can be applied just below the eye brow, for a highlight. You can even use as a blush highlighter or a lipstick. Although, it may dry your lips out since it's not intended for lips. But if you are in a jam and all you have is your paint pot, go for it.

5. And last...Model in a Bottle. This is an adhesive spray. You spray it on your face when your makeup is complete. It seals in your makeup to last all day, and even into the evening hours!

Hope you try all of these products, you will LOVE them!!!

Chi Town, MAC Training

This past weekend I visited my favorite city, Chicago! I had a great excuse to go...I attended a training course at MAC. I had a wonderful time and scooped up some great new products that I already know I can't live without. I also have added plenty of items to my wish list! The one thing I love (see photo below) is the MAC chair! Unfortunately, they do not sell that chair, but it has motivated me to get one just like it, but my chair will say BLUSH ME!
